IAS Brings Independent Brand Safety Measurement to ChatGPT Ads

Integral Ad Science has become one of the first media quality partners to support advertising inside ChatGPT, providing independent brand safety and suitability measurement for the emerging channel.

According to the company’s announcement on October 5, 2026, participating advertisers will receive third-party reporting that shows how ChatGPT Ads align with IAS’s existing brand safety and suitability taxonomy. The integration is currently running as a closed pilot with selected advertisers, primarily for campaigns in the United States, with broader availability planned later.

“Sustainable growth in AI advertising depends entirely on a foundation of digital trust,” said Lidiane Jones, CEO of Integral Ad Science. “As LLM platforms become essential consumer touchpoints, establishing robust third-party verification ensures marketers can confidently engage in AI-native experiences while upholding the highest standards of brand protection.”

The move addresses a practical gap. Conversational AI interfaces are becoming discovery channels, but they lack the established measurement frameworks that exist for the open web, connected TV, and social platforms. IAS’s reporting is intended to give brands the same type of independent verification they already use elsewhere.

The pilot does not give IAS access to private user conversations. Instead, it focuses on evaluating the advertising environment itself against standard brand safety categories. As ChatGPT Ads expand beyond the current test group, the presence of independent measurement is likely to influence how quickly larger advertisers are willing to allocate budget to the channel.
