SpaceX launched 21 data transport satellites for the U.S. Space Development Agency on 10 October 2026 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The Falcon 9 mission, delayed five days after an earlier scrub, deployed the satellites into low Earth orbit as part of the SDA’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. This was the fourth flight supporting the Tranche 1 constellation, which is intended to provide secure, low-latency communications and data transport for military users.
Northrop Grumman, the satellite manufacturer, confirmed successful deployment. The satellites are designed to connect warfighters with other elements of the architecture, including missile-tracking spacecraft.
